Job Advert


>> You have a UK Coaching certificate level 1 and have proven experience as a Sports Coach in one or more sports.  As well as having experience of working with children and young people you also have an understanding of risk assessment and the importance of Health and safety and Child Protection.  The ability to travel and work evenings and weekends is essential.

>> You will required to coach beginners to intermediate classes, delivering a programme of specific sports coaching at specific venues and ensuring the provision of a safe and enjoyable service to all customers.
 
>> This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory. The preferred candidate will also be required to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Check from other countries as deemed necessary. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.

Job Purpose


>> To plan, develop and deliver a programme of specific sports coaching at specific venues

>> To ensure the provision of safe and enjoyable delivery of service to all customers

 
 


Main Tasks


  • Design and deliver quality coaching sessions for a target group, taking into account individual and group coaching needs
  • Comply with Aberdeenshire’s normal operating procedures for Health and Safety for the activity undertaken including equipment and the supervision of participants as part of your duty of care
  • Undertake all relevant administration for each programme or session
  • Maintain links with the relevant Senior Coach or Sports Participation Officer, to ensure a quality service and assist with quality assurance systems

 




Hours per week: Variable, as and when required
Weeks per year: 52.18
Contract duration: Casual
